Stress and Resilience Laboratory Volunteer Research Assistant

Our Research:
Headed by Sabra Inslicht, Ph.D., the Stress and Resilience Laboratory at the San Francisco VA Medical Center/UCSF investigates the psychological and physiological processes, such as learning, memory, and hormone production, in men and women who have experienced a traumatic event. Join our team and help conduct exciting new research to develop new and more effective treatments for post-traumatic stress!
Duties May Include:
- Screening of potential participants for mental and physical health issues
- Administering the study protocol involving a fear conditioning/ psychophysiological task and biological sample collection
- Supporting MRI tech with running study task in an fMRI environment
- Assisting with recruitment, screening, tracking, and retention of participants
- Coordinating outreach, website design, recruitment mailings and advertising
Qualifications:
- In the process of obtaining or possessing a BA/BS degree in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field
- Possess minimum 1 year of prior research experience, preferably including psychophysiological measurement and experience involving fMRI
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with diagnostic and therapeutic issues related to PTSD
- Ability to commit at least 10-16hours per week for 1 year
- U.S. Citizenship required
